| ok, well, my hair went from this www.auravita.com/prodimages/CHAT/… (medium brown) to this www.stuff4beauty.com/pics/SO10.JP… . It took a while, but it worked, and it was slightly fried, but since you don't care, then here we go: So, pretty much get any powdered hair bleach you can find, i Would prefer the Cool Blue by Loreal. Sally's also recently (here anyway) got the Manic Panic Bleach Kit. It might be a little more expensive, but it already comes with the peroxide cream. Since you already have red hair you shouldn't have a problem with red or orange "pulling through" since it's like, already there. But just in case, get a 20 or 32 oz. bottle of Salon Care 20 Volume Creme Developer and a packet each of Salon Care Prism Lites Violet and Neutral, just in cast you don't get ALL of the red out. you may even need to get a Blue Packet, also. Now, i've never used Manic Panic Bleach before, but if it's powder, then just follow the instructions. If you would rather use the Cool Blue, and if you're going to get the 20 or 30 volume developer, then the Cool Blue already has all you need, just make sure you get enough Creme Developer. Ok, so first, mix 4 oz. of developer in a bowl, if you have longer hair you might need to use about 8 oz. of it. the more you use MIGHT make the lightening process slower, but i'll get to that next. Mix 8 oz. of Developer with the three packets of powdered bleach that comes in the Cool Blue Box. make sure the bowl you're using is big enough for all of this. Then, after the developer and the powder is mixed, add the peroxide that also comes with the Cool Blue. MAKE SURE THE MIX IS MIXED FULLY. then, apply to your hair one strand at a time. MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE AT LEAST 1" OF ROOT UNBLEACHED AT FIRST. believe me, if you bleach the roots when you bleach the ends, your hair WILL fall out, just saying. then after your hair gets about a pumpkin orange color or lighter, add the rest of the mixture to your roots and check often. it shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes for your roots to turn yellow. Make sure the strands are no more processed than orange, if you add the mixture to your roots too late then you will have different 2 different colors in your hair. if your roots turn lighter than the ends of your hair, wash it out anyway. it's better to have slightly darker ends than no hair at all. Also, get a bottle of Hot Oil for your hair, I used Hask and Placenta, the placenta oil, not the jojoba. ya i no, it sounds kind of gross, but it really helps. if you want to go lighter than the bleach you could either use the toner that i mentioned earlier, or just get blonde hair color. The hair color you want to go to is about a 12G in Clairol Terms, so get yourself some 12G hair color and depending on if your hair was stubborn to get the red out, 20,30,or 40 creme developer, if your hair bleached rather quickly, i would reccomend the 20 but if it took almost an hour or longer, use 30 or 40 developer. just make sure you CONDITION your hair A LOT and after you bleach your hair, never EVER brush it harshly, bleach, unlike hair color, takes the color of your hair OUT, leaving it hollow and rather Brittle. coloring it Blonde MAY make it SLIGHTLY stronger, but i would also look for a protein filler for damaged hair, also. | You need to ask for a platinum/white blonde, but with vanilla tones. She will have to put a toner over it but make sure its not on for too long as it may become too ash.
